Voorheesville Shares the Love with deployed troops

To the Editor:

The village of Voorheesville is once again conducting a collection for our troops. Operation Share the Love will be in effect from now through March 1.

Collection boxes are located at Village Hall, Town Hall, the Voorheesville Public Library, Hannaford, and KeyBank. A list of items being collected can be found on our website at www.villageofvoorheesville.com and posted at various locations around the village, or simply contact Village Hall at 518-765-2692 and we can send an electronic copy out to you.

Monetary donations are also being accepted to help defray the cost of shipping, which was approximately $60 per box for our last collection.

The most important item that we can place in any box we send is a note or card to our military personnel. Having several family members in the military, I have heard straight from them that those deployed appreciate every box of goodies, but most especially appreciate being remembered with a personal note.

Please take a minute to jot a quick note or two that we can include in our boxes. It is the best gift you can send.

If you are aware of military personnel currently deployed, please contact me at the phone number listed above with his or her mailing information. Thank you for participating in Operation Share the Love.
