Kendra Scott celebrates Valentine’s Day, supports local charities

Kendra Scott is celebrating Valentine’s Day with a series of events this weekend.

GUILDERLAND — This weekend, Kendra Scott, a jewelry store, is celebrating its opening at Stuyvesant Plaza.

Activities from Feb. 6 through 8 will celebrate the brand’s Valentine’s Day campaign of “So Much More to Love” and incorporate local businesses and artists, while the Kendra Gives Back initiative will feature activities to benefit Boys and Girls Clubs of the Capital Area, Farnsworth Middle School, and Guilderland Pop Warner Cheer.

Kendra Scott opened on Nov. 26 on the plaza’s north side next to Lola Saratoga.

The jewelry company was founded by Kendra Scott in Texas in 2002. In 2016, according to Forbes, Scott sold a minority stake in her company to the private equity firm Berkshire Partners at a valuation of $1 billion. Scott stepped down as chief executive officer in 2021.

The Austin-based company has over 3,200 employees.

On Friday, from 4 to 7, Kendra Scott will donate 20 percent from sales in support of Boys and Girls Clubs of the Capital Area. On Saturday, from noon to 3 p.m., the store will donate 20 percent from sales to benefit the 8th-grade class at Farnsworth Middle School. And on Sunday, from noon to 3 p.m., Kendra Scott will donate 20 percent from sales to benefit Guilderland Pop Warner Cheer.

In each of these time periods, shoppers who spend $100 will get a free gift while supplies last and can also enjoy perks from  Krause’s Homemade Candy, Cookie Boss, Megan Fahy Calligraphy, Samantha Nass Floral Design, Jacob and Anthony’s Italian RestaurantStarry Eyed Letter Co., and live illustrations from local artist Jenny C Design.
