Joan Marie Morrow

Joan Marie Morrow, a beloved Berne-Knox-Westerlo bus driver, cherished her family above all else.

Born on May 29, 1946, she died unexpectedly on Monday, Feb. 2, 2026 in Fruitland Park, Florida, where she lived. She was 79.

“Joan was a loving, strong, and nurturing woman who devoted her life to caring for others, both professionally and within her family,” her family wrote in a tribute. “She shared 50 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Morris Morrow, and together they built a life centered on love, family, and togetherness.

“Throughout her life, Joan worked in roles that reflected her compassionate nature. She proudly drove school bus for the Berne-Knox-Westerlo Central School District for many years, forming lasting connections with countless children and families.

“She later worked as a customer-service representative for Blue Shield until her retirement and also spent time working in a local doctor’s office in Berne before relocating to Florida with Morris.

“Above all else, Joan cherished her family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, finding her greatest joy in spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren. She loved gathering with friends and family and enjoyed going out to eat, sharing conversation, laughter, and memories.

“Though her passing was unexpected, the love Joan gave so freely will never fade. She will always be remembered for her caring heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family.”
