Historical society will host sessions on the Western Turnpike, Guilderland Center, stereopticons, and Normanvale

To the Editor:
The Guilderland Historical Society is well on its way to a successful 2024.

The trustees have completed a successful reorganizational meeting and are looking forward to 2024 with great anticipation.

We have four meetings and presentations planned in the spring.

On Feb. 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mynderse-Frederick House, I will be making a presentation on the Great Western Turnpike. This will serve as well as a follow-up to the dedication of the historical marker at Hawthorne Gardens of the same name.

On March 21, again at 7:30 p.m., town historial Mary Ellen Johnson will be making a presentation on the Guilderland Center hamlet area.

On April 18, at 7:30 p.m., Stuart Lehman will be making a presentation on stereopticons.

And on May 16, again at 7:30 p.m., Mark O’Brien and John McCormick will be making a presentation on Normanvale.

Our June Jaunt, time and day to be determined, will be at the Albany Institute of History and Art.

You are certainly invited to attend these meetings. More details on each of these 45-minute programs will be forthcoming.
