Hilltown Winter Fest includes sled races and chili contest

The sun never sets on fun at Winter Fest.

KNOX — The Knox Youth Council invites families and friends to join in the annual Hilltown Winter Fest in the Knox town park pavilion on Saturday, Feb. 10, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Activities will include a cardboard sled race, featuring sleds made by hand using only cardboard and duct table. Races begin at 12:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for the fastest and most creative. Visit www.knoxny.org for official race rules.

The annual chili contest, judged by Paul Centi, chef and owner at the Township Tavern in Knox, will take place at noon. The contest is open to cooks of all ages. Please register with Jean Gagnon at (518) 366-4407.

Clayhaven horse-drawn carriage rides will be available, and the Emma Treadwell Nature Center will provide a limited number of snowshoes to enjoy. Warm up in the Knox Town Hall with crafts for all ages. Free hotdogs and hot chocolate will also be provided.
