Police say, Hendrickson goes to Troopers’ barracks drunk and carrying drugs

NEW SCOTLAND — John M. Hendrickson, 42, of Ravena, drove to the police barracks in New Scotland late in the evening on Sunday, Jan. 29, to pick up a suspect who was being released, according to a press notice from the State Police.

A Trooper who interviewed Hendrickson smelled alcohol on his breath, the press release said. He was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated after failing field sobriety tests, the release said.; he had a blood alcohol content of .21 percent.

Also, Hendrickson had controlled substances for which he had no prescription, the notice said. In addition to DWI, he was charged with seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance outside its original container.

Hendrickson is due to appear in the New Scotland Town Court on Feb. 23 to answer the charges.
