To the Editor:

I am writing to express my concern over the firing of Berne’s dog control officer, Cheryl Baitsholts, who for many years carried out her job with true concern for the dogs in the surrounding areas.

She is absolutely outstanding at the job and I can’t understand why she ever should have been fired. “If it’s not broken, why fix it” — and in her case nothing was broken.

She has always done the job above and beyond the call of duty.
