Guilderland said no to pot shops

GUILDERLAND — The Guilderland Town Board by a unanimous 5-to-0 vote in October said no to both retail sales and on-site consumption of marijuana in the town.

Municipalities had until Dec. 31 to opt out of allowing retail dispensaries or licenses for on-site consumption.

The vote came after just a handful of residents spoke during a September town board meeting and a few more called in to an Oct. 19 hearing as to whether pot shops should be allowed in Guilderland.
