Richard Warren Tice

GUILDERLAND — Richard Warren Tice, a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, cherished brother, uncle, and friend, died in the home he built, on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was 84.

“Born on Sept. 19, 1941, in Albany, New York, Richard lived a life rooted in hard work, family, and quiet strength,” his family wrote in a tribute. He was the kind of man who always showed up for the people he loved — reliable, steady, and unwavering in his support.

“Richard was a proud mason and longtime member of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local No. 2, having joined the union in 1965. He was also a longtime member of the Guilderland Elks, where he found camaraderie and community.

“Richard had a passion for traveling, gardening, and woodworking. He and his wife, Kathie, enjoyed wintering in their second home in Florida at Lake Magic RV Park.

“He especially enjoyed helping friends and family, sharing a good beer, and teasing his loved ones — a trait that brought laughter and warmth to everyone around him. His presence, humor, and generosity will be deeply missed.”
