Dean J. Michaels

ALTAMONT — Dean J. Michaels, a retired highway worker who loved riding his motorcycle, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at St. Peter’s Hospital. He was 60.

Mr. Michaels was born in Albany on Oct. 14, 1956, the son of the late Daniel and Sophie Michaels.

He was a graduate of the Berne-Knox High School. He loved riding his motorcycle all over New York State and was a member of “Disorder” Motorcycle Club.

Mr. Michaels retired from the Albany County Highway Department after 30 years of service.

He is survived by his brothers, Daniel Michaels and his wife, Shirley, Dennis Michaels, Douglas Michaels and his wife, Nancy; by his sister, Diane; and by several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his sister Darlene Kretzler and brother Donald Michaels.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Jan. 29, from noon to 3 p.m. at Fredendall Funeral Home at 199 Main St. in Altamont.
