Carry a light when walking at night

To the Editor:

My husband and I had to run an errand to Voorheesville around 5:15 on Sunday evening. We encountered four people walking on the road in various places with no lights or light-colored clothing.

It seems as if most people have black or dark outer wear. What is wrong with people? When walking on the road, you need to have something to show you are there.

It gets dark early and we could not see them until we were right on top of them. One person had a dog that was white and black and you could see the dog!

It would be so easy to carry a flashlight or wear a safety vest. Please consider this small thing for your safety. Thank you.
