WESTERLO — Ryan Randall Britton, an outdoorsman with a degree in mechanical engineering, died unexpectedly on Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, at his Westerlo home. He was 22.

He was born on April 6, 1995 in Albany.

He had graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and was working on attaining his master’s degree. “He was an avid hunter and loved being outdoors and spending time with his family and friends,” his family wrote in a tribute.

He is survived by his loving parents, Randall and Penny Britton Jr.; his sister, Meghan Britton, his grandparents, Harold and Viola Lee and Bernice Lee; his uncles, Todd Britton and his wife, Mary, and Harold Lee Jr. and his wife, Darlene; his aunts, Gail Lee, Tamatha Keppler and her husband, Pat, Samantha Britton and Abdul, and Dorothy Lee and her husband, Glen; and numerous great aunts and great uncles, cousins, family, and friends.

His grandparents Randall and Paula Britton Sr. died before him, as did his great-grandparents Clyde and Kathryn Sisson Sr. and Sanford and Juanita Britton; his great uncle, Clyde Sisson Jr.; and his aunt, Maryann Hulbert.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Fredendall Funeral Home in Altamont. A funeral service will be held immediately following. Burial will follow in the spring.
