Are town residents too busy rallying against the president to see ugly Dems here?

To the Editor:

When the Hart, McDonald versus Town of Guilderland, Pyramid lawsuit ended, I knew there would be hell to pay for the parties in that lawsuit “[Guilderland and Pyramid win reversal of lower court decision,” The Altamont Enterprise, July 15, 2021].

Literally, the dust had not even settled from their lawsuit when retaliatory dust from construction was pummeled their way around 5 a.m. by work crews building the Costco warehouse [“Costco construction raises ire of local residents and officials,” The Altamont Enterprise, Oct. 30, 2025].

[Guilderland Supervisor] Peter Barber did not enforce the town noise ordinance for weeks after the lawsuit. Those plaintiffs had to keep begging for code enforcement, which the zoning board of appeals overruled and allowed the early morning construction to continue ….

Is it possible that our town residents are so busy rallying against the president that they fail to see the ugliness going on in the Democratic Party of our own town?

Guilderland

Editor’s note: The supervisor is not responsible for enforcing town ordinances. Kevin McDonald is now a Guilderland councilman and Lisa Hart served on the committee that updated Guilderland’s comprehensive plan.
