New digs: Marilyn Wendt, the first resident of Albany County’s nursing home to move into a room in the new Ann Lee Wing is assisted by County Executive Daniel McCoy during opening festivities on Monday, Jan. 13. The home is now called the Shaker Place Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and the three new wings are named after prominent Shakers: Ann Lee, Joseph Meacham, and James Whittaker. Individual bedrooms are a first for the home.
