Town worker charged with stealing $63K in metals

BETHLEHEM — A town worker at the Bethlehem Water Department stole $63,481.19 worth of copper and brass materials from an inventory room, according to a release from the Bethlehem Police.

Matthew J. Stipe, 32, of Delmar, was charged on Jan. 11with second-degree grand larceny, a felony.

He was arraigned in Bethlehem Town Court and released to reappear in February.
