Community Caregivers: We continue to need volunteers

To the Editor:

The Community Caregivers Board of Directors extends a heartfelt thank-you to The Altamont Enterprise for its coverage last week, which included a touching and relevant opinion piece, a 25-year retrospective of our organization, and a feature story on our new executive director, Lee Lounsbury.

We are thrilled to have such a talented and dedicated professional on board. But as we position ourselves for the new decade, we continue to need volunteers.

Statistics show that not-for-profits are finding it more difficult to recruit and retain volunteers. We ask anyone who is interested in helping their neighbor shop for groceries, make it to a doctor’s appointment, or simply provide a friendly visit to contact our offices.

With your support, we can continue to provide these necessary services to residents who need that little extra assistance to stay independent and in their homes.
