Guilderland cross-country runs well at Federation Championships

Both the boys’ and girls’ Guilderland cross-country teams competed in the New York State Federation Championships at Bowdoin Park in Wappingers Falls last Saturday. Each team had a top-five placement in a field of 27 teams.

The Guilderland boys placed third with 237 points, behind Pittsford Mendon in second and St. Anthony’s in first. The Guilderland girls placed fifth with 175 points, behind Corning in fourth, Suffern in third, Shenendehowa in second, and Saratoga in first.

Here are the results for the Dutch boys:

— Noah Carey, 12th place, 16:03.1;

— Noah Tindale, 66th place, 16:53.7;

— Jonathan Feil, 75th place, 16:57.1;

— Jared Capuano. 92nd place, 17:04.0;

— Ethan McDonald, 134th place, 17:25.6;

— Victor Warner, 181st place, 17:50.2; and

— Jake Swartzendruber, 252nd place, 19:01.3.

Here are the results for the Dutch girls:

— Emily Bini, 11th place, 18:51.6;

— Emily Burns, 14th place, 19:01.7;

— Sarah Forman, 58th place, 19:36.2;

— Olivia Fanshawe, 99th place 20:08.5;

— Christine Fish, 105th place, 20:18.0;

— Alyssa Jourdin, 147th place, 20:57.9; and

— Rebecca Miceli, 151st place, 21:02.6.

Carey, a sophomore, and Burns, a senior, both ran at the New York State Championships on Nov. 8 in Canton. Carey placed ninth with a time of 16:00.2, and Burns placed 22nd with a time of 19:01.8.
