Gifts for the body, mind, and spirit

To the Editor:

Where can shoppers find a wide variety of locally produced gifts for the discriminating person who has everything?

This Saturday, Dec. 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Octagon Barn in Knox, they will find: consumables for the body — including herbal lotions and balms; pies, breads and other baked goods; maple syrup, honey, pasture-raised meats; and fruit preserves and winter vegetables (cabbage, Brussels sprouts, potatoes, onions, squash) from Newcomb’s Farm.

Shoppers will also find nourishment for the soul — from beeswax candles and original artwork to an extravaganza of books (some with autographs!) from our area:

— The Emergent Agriculture, by Gary Kleppel of Knox;

— History of a One-Room Schoolhouse in Knox, NY, by Dan Driscoll of Knox;

— Berne and Knox, Our German Heritage, by Harold Miller, formerly of Berne;

— Helderberg Hilltowns, by John Elberfeld and Jane McLean of Knox; and

— Knox, NY Sesquicentennial Reprint, by the Knox Historical Society.

Choose from all this, plus many more gifts, from necessities to frivolities.  Join us, and Discover the Hilltowns!  Call 618-5376 for more information.
