Helderberg Haven offers elder care three days a week

To the Editor:

Of the many positives to living in our beautiful area is our ability to take care of ourselves while we care for each other. This letter is to let the community know that there is a new adult day program called Helderberg Haven.

The program strives to offer socialization with dignity to the Hilltown community. It’s presented by Senior Services of Albany and is held at the Lutheran Church in Berne.

The program will be offered Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and includes door-to-door transportation, breakfast, hot lunch, a snack, and group activities throughout the day.

There is a fee for attending, but there are also a number of programs that can provide financial support. The Senior Services of Albany staff will explore these programs with you.

If you know someone who would benefit from this service, please come to ne of two information sessions at the Berne Library Community Room on Thursday, Oct. 30, at 2 and 6:30 p.m.
