Community Caregivers sets summer volunteer orientation dates
“A neighbor in need would enjoy spending time with you,” states a release from the 20-year-old not-for-profit group.
Community Caregivers, located in Guilderland, enables people of all ages to maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life within their homes and communities. This mission is accomplished by a large pool of volunteers who provide non-medical services at no charge to residents in Bethlehem, Guilderland, Altamont, New Scotland, Voorheesville, Berne and Knox, and in the city of Albany.
Since 2010, Community Caregivers has had more than 230 volunteers provide 16,500 services to nearly 500 individuals in the towns it serves and in Albany. Services include: transportation; friendly visits; respite for family caregivers; shopping assistance; prescription pickup; telephone assurance calls; and help with meal preparation, paperwork, and chores, as needed.
