Joys of life far outweigh the sorrows
To the Editor:
Often in life we are faced with difficult situations. Sadly many take matters into their own hands and end their lives.
We must remember the joys of life far outweigh the sorrows. The sadness may seem relentless; however, suicide is a hurtful and rash act and it deeply wounds those who know and love us.
Death is not the answer, nor is it the end. We have been created body, soul (mind, will, and emotions), and spirit. Our spirit is designed to live on after our body has died. We are eternal beings.
We need to consider God the creator’s plan for eternal security and happiness. God sent His Son, Jesus, who paid the price for our salvation thus ensuring we have a way to heaven. Jesus is the way, truth, and life. When we trust in Him our lives will take on meaning, the meaning they were designed for — a future and a hope.
I have, as have many of you, experienced loss of family and friends through suicide. Hopelessness happens across every socio-economic line. My neighbor, two family members, successful people and those with bright futures and loving families, have chosen suicide. I want to share with everyone the joy, peace and hope in knowing and trusting Jesus with your life.
I am a Jewish believer in Christ and a member and deacon at Rock Road Chapel in Berne. I will be speaking Sunday, Nov. 2 at the 10 a.m. service and invite everyone to come as I share God’s plan for salvation and a life of hope. Maybe no one else knows the depth of your pain but God knows. Come and meet Him.
