Carmichael kept the Dutch in the game with a penalty kick save in the first half when the Dutch were down, 1 to 0; Guilderland lost by that same score. Guilderland is 8-2-1 in the Suburban Council.

Closely contested: On Tuesday afternoon, the Guilderland and Shenendehowa boys’ soccer teams fought in a tight Suburban Council match where Shenendehowa won, 1 to 0. Here, Guilderland’s Matt Mesiti, right, battles with Shenendehowa’s Chris Jupin in the second half as Guilderland was trying to rally for the equalizer. The Plainsmen have won nine shutouts this season, eight of them in a row.
