Chambers charged with grand larceny

GUILDERLAND — An Albany man has been charged in five separate incidences, stealing property valued at over $11,000, according to a release from Guilderland Police.

Jasir E. Chambers, 22, of South Ferry Street, was charged with grand larceny and resisting arrest on Thursday, Nov. 14, at about 6:35 p.m. at the Apple Store in Crossgates Mall.

Chambers stole several Apple watches and watch bands, the release said, and, as he was leaving the store, he fought with the arresting officers; one officer received minor injuries.

Altogether, Chambers has been charged with five counts of fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony, and with resisting arrest, a misdemeanor.

He was arraigned in Guilderland Town Court Thursday evening and remanded to the Albany County’s jail on $15,000 bail.
