To the Editor:

On Aug. 10, the Altamont community gathered to celebrate the release of the book Images of America: Altamont, published by Arcadia Publishing.  I want to express my sincere thanks to all the sponsors, noted in the photograph below, for their support for the book and for the Archives. 

My thanks, also, to the Altamont Archives Team — Marijo Dougherty, Ron Ginsburg, Connie Rue, and Laura Shore, for their guidance, research skills, technical ability, editing skills, and encouragement over the past year and a half.

My appreciation goes out to my fellow Altamont residents and friends for their overwhelming support of the book.  It does take a village!

There are copies of the book still available at Village Hall at 115 Main Street, for those planning ahead for holiday presents.  All proceeds from the book sales will go to the Altamont Archives and Museum to support future projects and exhibitions.
