Voorheesville valedictorian

Conway to lend a helping hand

VOORHEESVILLE — Michaela Conway credits Voorheesville with providing academic and athletic opportunities to herself and her classmates.

This year’s valedictorian was captain of the girls’ varsity soccer team as well as serving as president of Natural Helpers and treasurer of the student government.  She was also a member of the wind ensemble and concert band and participated in the Mode United Nations, Key Club, and Cystic Fibrosis Walk.

Conway became interested in science at Voorheesville, especially biology, which she plans to pursue next fall at Dartmouth College.

The depth of the field appeals to her.  “It’s always changing,” she said and it offers a “way to help people.”  Conway is considering medical school after finishing her undergraduate degree.
