BETHLEHEM — After a jury trial, Lina Michaels, 32, of Delmar, was found guilty of driving while intoxicated per se, a felony, and driving while ability impaired, a misdemeanor.

The trial was presided over by Debra J. Young in Albany County Court on March 9.

A jury found that on Oct. 8, 2015, at 8:29 P.M., on Delaware Avenue in Bethlehem, Michaels was involved in a car crash while drunk. The driver of the other vehicle fled the scene.

Members of the Bethlehem Police Department arrived to investigate the crash, and saw Michaels was showing physical signs of intoxication, according to a release from the Albany County District Attorney’s Office; a blood test indicated she had a blood alcohol content level of .08 two hours after the crash.

Michaels faces up to one-and-a-third to four years in state prison when she is sentenced on April 25.

Assistant District Attorney David Szalda of the Vehicular Crimes Unit prosecuted this case.
