ALBANY COUNTY — The man that police say went on a county-wide spree in November, stealing laptops, phones, and GPS devices from cars pleaded guilty on Tuesday to fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony.

Paul Mackey, 34, of Schenectady entered his plea before Thomas A. Breslin in Albany County Supreme Court.

Between Nov. 4 and Nov. 9, 2016, Mackey stole those items from vehicles along with credit cards, and made purchases using the stolen credit cards, according to a release from the Albany County District Attorney’s Office. Mackey was arrested after an investigation of the car break-ins and unauthorized credit-card use led by the police departments in Colonie, Guilderland, and Bethlehem. Much of the stolen property was recovered from Mackey’s home.

He will be sentenced on March 24, and faces two to four years in state prison.
