Town residents had an opportunity to learn about and discuss a roundabout planned for the intersection of Carman Road and Lydius Street at an open house held by the state’s Department of Transportation at Pine Bush Elementary School on Sept. 24. DOT spokesman Bryan Viggiani told The Enterprise that the DOT is trying to get feedback and comments from the public before proceeding with a more detailed design. When asked if the DOT will demolish the abandoned Nedco pharmacy at that intersection, Viggiani said that, once initial steps are completed, the DOT could proceed to any property acquisitions that may be needed. He said the project, which is to start in the spring of 2021 and be finished the same year, will include federal funding, although the percentage is yet to be determined.
