Roll out: A total of 11 bikers ride off toward Route 20 in Guilderland, passing Western Turnpike Rescue Squad where Richard Beebe was a member for years; they rode to the scene of the accident then back to where they started. A lifetime member of the volunteer Western Turnpike Rescue Squad, Beebe worked for almost 30 years as a paramedic with the Guilderland Police Department’s paramedic division — first as a volunteer, and then, for more than 25 years, as a part-timer.
