Ground breaking: During the 10 a.m. Sunday service at the Saint Boniface Episcopal Church in Guilderland, Father Steven Scherck, in clerical clothes, leads a prayer alongside Vicky Schlierer, to his right, and Tracy Smith, head of Smith Contracting, to his far left, and Donald Lansing, to his immediate left. The first phase of the two-phase “Building on Faith” project will include the installation of a large cross, to make the building easily recognizable as a church. The funding for the $200,000 project is coming from the 150 church members, and the funding campaign is ongoing.
