The magical run for the Voorheesville girls’ basketball team came to an end Saturday in a heart-pounding game. After a string of upsets that led to winning the school’s 11th sectional title, the Blackbirds faced Northeastern Clinton in Saturday’s regional final at Hudson Valley Community College. The Birds were down by 14 points at halftime on Saturday but fought their way back to lead. As the crowd roared, with five seconds left, the Birds had a chance to win but ultimately lost in overtime, 51 to 44.
