Photos: Dutch Trio Vault to States

Performing under pressure, the Guilderland gymnasts showed their beauty and grace in the Section 2 championships on Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 8, at Shaker High School in Colonie as they sought entry to the State Competition on March 4. The Dutch finished second overall with 164.025.

Like a ballerina: Guilderland’s Rachel Drislane does her routine on the floor where she finished second with a score of 9.200 and will represent Guilderland in the All-Around state competition by finishing third with a total score of 34.450.

Being a daredevil: Guilderland’s Shea Thomson does a cartwheel on the balance beam during her routine. Thomson qualified for two events at States — the balance beam, by finishing fifth with a score of 8.900, and floor exercise, finishing fifth with a score of 9.050.

With a point of her toe: Guilderland’s Emma Drislane, Rachel's sister, starts her balance beam routine. Emma Drislane finished in 15th with a score of 8.500 but qualified for states in the vault with a third with a 8.475.
