Survey on farmers’ markets

Farmers’ Market Federation of New York is asking for farmers and other vendors who participate in farmers’ markets to fill out a brief, anonymous survey on market benchmarks. The in-depth survey covers many areas, including the amount of an average sale, marketing strategies, and market preparation time.

According to Diane Eggert, executive director of Farmers’ Market Federation of New York, “The survey [results] will give farmers a standard by which they can measure themselves, in terms such as sales volumes or staffing levels.”  The standards will also allow market organizers and management to better understand how farmers and vendors measure market success.

The survey is available online athttps://www.surveymonkey.com/s/FMFNYBenchmarks.  The results will be published in the Farmers’ Market Federation of New York newsletter and website as well as presented at conferences.

Farmers’ Market Federation of New York is a grassroots, membership organization of farmers’ market managers, market sponsors, farmers, and market supporters that has developed services to increase the number and scope of farmers’ markets statewide.
