Scouts’ good deeds appreciated, More thanks for a successful Victorian Holiday

To the Editor:

Altamont Community Tradition continues to hear feedback on the 2015 Victorian Holiday Celebration and Wintermarket and we’re happy to expand our thanks for all the help we received.

A big thank-you goes out to the Boy Scouts of Troop 264 and their leaders, who are regular hosts at Orsini Park during the Victorian Holiday event. They offered hot chocolate and candy canes, in addition to maintaining welcome fire pits for the many people spending the afternoon in Altamont.

Thanks to Girl Scout Troop 1555 for caroling throughout the village. It was a pleasure to take a break from the hustle and bustle and listen to some favorite holiday songs.

Thank you to the many providers of new activities this year: Altamont Orchards hayrides, Five Rivers game activities, the gratitude wreath, the Hoops by Jem hula hoop contest, and a special visit by Everett Rau with news of his new memoir.

Once again, ACT would like to thank all who participated during the Victorian Holiday Celebration and invite those with ideas for next year to get in touch (before September) through our Facebook page or website: www.altamontcommunitytradition.org.
