Mortimore charged with felony assault

GUILDERLAND — Joshua A. Mortimore was arrested at his home in Guilderland on Dec. 15 for felony assault charges, as well as several misdemeanors.

Mortimore, 20, allegedly assaulted a female victim during a domestic dispute in his apartment at 2107 Brandywine Parkway, while a child was present. The child was not injured and medical treatment was pending for the female victim, according to a release issued by the Guilderland Police Department last Friday.

He was charged with two felonies: first-degree attempted assault and unlawful imprisonment. He was also charged with three misdemeanors: endangering the welfare of a child, third-degree menacing, and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Mortimore was arraigned in Guilderland Town Court and sent to Albany County’s jail, pending a psychiatric evaluation.

The investigation of the incident is continuing, the release said.
