Next up: Enjoy a Christmas show on Dec. 20
To the Editor:
The Voorheesville Community & School Foundation is still reeling from our exciting fundraising event, the 2015 Evening at The Orchard, which took place on Friday, Oct. 16, at the Orchard Creek Golf Club in Altamont. The foundation is happy to report that we met our goal to raise $25,000, funds that will be reinvested in many worthy projects and programs that enrich our community and schools.
Every cent raised was made possible through the generosity of local businesses and individuals who sponsored and donated to the event, as well as the 200 attendees who participated in the auctions and drawings. A big thank-you goes out to the members of our dynamic board of directors who gave so much time and talent to make the event a success.
VCSF would also like to extend a warm thank-you to The Altamont Enterprise for your support and coverage of our fundraiser.
To extend our thanks to the entire community, the foundation warmly invites you to a wonderful holiday event for the whole family! On Sunday, Dec. 20, VCSF is hosting The Classic Theater Guild’s performance of “A Radio Christmas Carol” at the Voorheesville Performing Arts Center at the Voorheesville Middle School.
Doors open at 1:30 p.m. for a 2 p.m. performance that will also feature holiday music performed by the Voorheesville High School Jazz Band, student vocalists, and the Voorheesville Elementary School Handchime Choir. Tickets are $5 for general admission and $2 for children, students, and senior citizens. Tickets will be available at the door and online now at www.vcsfoundation.com. Proceeds will benefit the performing arts in our schools.
During this hectic time of year, we invite you to spend an afternoon relaxing and enjoying some local holiday entertainment with family and friends. To purchase tickets and read more about the Classic Theater Guild’s production, visit our website at www.vcsfoundation.com.
