Even more to do at the Victorian Holiday Celebration

To the Editor:

Recently the members of Altamont Community Tradition, of which I am a proud member, met to finalize our plans for the upcoming Victorian Holiday Celebration, which takes place on Sunday, Dec. 11, starting at noon. This year, the number of our events and programs has significantly increased, and their locations will be found throughout the village.

Santa arriving by decorated train in Orsini Park at 5 p.m. remains a big part of the celebration. As well, we have increased the number of vendors and events that will be found through the village.

Our decorated house tours are in place and we are pleased to announce we will be touring the recently restored Charles Lansing Pruyn Mansion on Leesome Lane — which is operated by the Joshua Foundation.

Tickets for the house tours and the transportation will be available at the Masonic Hall on Maple Avenue starting at noon. Plenty of parking in village lots will be available.

Holiday wreaths, decorated by volunteers, will also be on view for auction all afternoon on that day in the Masonic Hall. Visitors will also enjoy seeing all the specially sponsored decorated trees, the gingerbread houses, and more.

This weekend is a major part of the annual activities of the all-volunteer ACT organization, which enables us to sponsor programs and events for the Altamont Free Library, the Archives and Museum, Community Caregivers, and other not-for-profit service organizations.
