ALBANY COUNTY — Altogether 25 drunk-driving arrests were made by Albany County police agencies participating in the 76^th countywide DWI Patrol, which ran from 10 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29, to 5 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1.

Police made 1,518 stops and, in addition to the drunk-driving arrests, charged three people with driving while ability impaired by drugs, one with aggravated unlicensed operation because of an alcohol-related charge, and 10 with aggravated unlicensed operation unrelated to alcohol. There were 62 designated drivers.

Colonie Police arrested a person who “left a house party in costume, dressed as a Breathalyzer” for driving while intoxicated, according to a release from the Albany County Sheriff’s Department; he refused to take the test.

Along with the sheriff’s department, 11 municipal departments and the State Troopers participated.

Two Altamont Police officers made 17 stops and issued two summonses.

Five Guilderland Police officers made 79 stops and issued 18 summonses, two of them for aggravated unlicensed operation.

One officer from the University at Albany made 23 stops and issued eight summonses.
