Help needed to make the holidays happy for low-income families

To the Editor:

We wanted to bring the community up to speed on some of the projects we are working on. We currently have a large list of needy families that we are hoping to provide Thanksgiving dinner to this year.

Along with the Helderberg Kiwanis, we supply low-income families with all the supplies to make a nice turkey dinner for their family. Anyone who would like to make a donation of food can call the office at 797-5256. We will be happy to arrange pick-up of items if necessary.

We are also working on our Christmas Adopt-a-Child Program. We have made some changes to the program this year.

We are only sponsoring children under 19 years old. Our sponsorship is down and our goal is to get Christmas for every child that signs up.

We would be very grateful for sponsors to adopt a child.

Monetary donations are always appreciated for both of our programs. Checks can be made out to HCRC, Post Office Box 147, Westerlo, New York 12193.

We would not be able to run these programs without the support of our community and we are so appreciative of all the help we receive.
