Dan is levelheaded, smart, and a natural collaborator
To the Editor:
You can learn a lot about someone when you spend the weekend on the roof with them, and that’s exactly how I met Dan Hanley. We had both volunteered to help a mutual friend set the trusses and put a roof on his hay barn one blustery November weekend in Knox some years back, just before the snow began to fly.
What I learned about Dan on that roof was that he is hardworking, fearless, dependable, and that he cares deeply about his neighbors and friends.
I next ran into Dan at the Knox Winterfest where he was manning his annual post at the bonfire as a volunteer for the Knox Youth Council. Standing with him at that fire on a cold day in January, I learned that Dan is kind, welcoming, good-natured, that he can connect with anyone, and that he cares deeply about his community.
Similarly, I began running into Dan at the Memorial Day parade, the Sept. 11 memorial at the firehouse, at the Township with his family supporting local business, and at all sorts of community events in between.
At this point, I can say that I know Dan Hanley very well, and I can also say that he is exactly the kind of person that we need on our town council in Knox. Dan is levelheaded, smart, and a natural collaborator. He has the guts to think for himself, the common sense to know what is best for our town, and the temperament to work with his colleagues to get things done.
I believe Dan will be a responsible steward of our precious tax dollars and will represent our great town in a way that we can all be proud of. Please join me in supporting Dan Hanley for Knox Town Council on Election Day, Nov. 8.
