Election signs not appropriate next to cemetery

To the Editor:

An amazing number of lawn signs placed by Knox residents indicating support for local and county candidates prove politics is important in Knox. However, Vas Lefkaditis, a candidate for Knox Supervisor, alerted me to a slew of signs by the Knox Cemetery.

As a local history buff, I have to agree with Vas that visitors to and residents of the cemetery deserve the peace and tranquility of a politics-free environment. We encourage those who placed the signs to move them to a more appropriate location.
