New Scotland leadership is satisfied to ‘babysit’ our town and not make hard choices
To the Editor:
The town of New Scotland needs youth.
My job requires me to travel on a regular basis. I always look forward to coming home but, upon my return, I am struck by the lack of vision our town of New Scotland leaders have.
Yes, we have a great many homes being built at a fast pace because they are now controlled by private contractors. However, I pass the Hilton barn, which consumed so much time and money yet it remains in the same condition as when it was moved. I still don’t know the cost associated to move this barn nor the total cost of completing the move.
As noted, we have added a great number of homes most of which will be priced at a level that our children who have grown up in the town of New Scotland will not be able to afford. With these homes, I have not seen discussions of the necessary infrastructures to handle the increased number of cars and people entering our town.
It seems that our leadership is satisfied to “babysit” our town and not make the hard choices required to allow our town to grow. It is clear to me that it is time for youth to take over our town with young ideas and the energy needed.
I am very impressed to see Ally Moreau step up and want to get involved improving the town of New Scotland. I only wish that more young adults would get involved in local politics as, to me, they represent the future.
I have had a chance to talk with her and she has impressed me with her wisdom and vision for the town. She may be young but that youth is what we need. Should you have a chance to talk with Ally Moreau, please take time to discuss her vision for the town of New Scotland.
