Three from Guilderland stores caught in sting selling liquor to minors

Employees at three Guilderland stores were arrested this week for selling alcohol to minors.

They were among 19 charged after a Sept. 29 countywide detail where three 20-year-old agents were used, according to a release from the Albany County Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Unit worked with the Albany Police Detective’s Office, the Cohoes Police Detective’s Office, the Guilderland Police, and Troopers from the State Police — broken up into three groups within their jurisdictions.

Those arrested from Guilderland stores were:

— Patricia Marx, 48, of 7235 Mariaville Rd., Delanson, working at Guilderland Extra Mart at 3903 Carman Rd.;

— Jessica O’Flaherty, 32, of 3 Farnsworth Dr., Slingerlands, working at the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 2025 Western Ave.; and

— John Pettinato, 64, of 19 Cottage Ave., Albany, working at VanVranken Enterprises at 1229 Western Ave.

Also, Ryan Roth, 37, of 620 New Salem Rd., Voorheesville, working at the Maple Leaf Market at 323 Ontario St. in Albany, was arrested.

Each was charged with two misdemeanors: unlawfully dealing with a minor and prohibited sale of alcohol to a minor. Each was issued an appearance ticket for the court of jurisdiction where the arrest took place.
