I see raw biased discrimination in Mr. Crosier’s firing of Scott Green

To the Editor:

Actions speak louder than words.

Recently Mr. Scott Green was fired from his full-time job with the town of Berne by the singular action of the town supervisor, Kevin Crosier. I believe this firing by Mr. Crosier was not only unfair, unkind, unjust, and unnecessary, but was a personally motivated and discriminatory action against Mr. Green.

I have known Scott Green for over 20 years. I met Scott (and his partner Tim Lippert) through a trusted referral, when he came to my home to do some interior painting. I do not allow just anyone into my home.

From the first moment, Scott was professional, efficient, courteous, and kind. Over an extended period of time, due to who Scott is. We became friends. I would trust Scott with my life and indeed, his friendship has seen me through some very difficult times, including unexpected widowhood.

Over these 20-plus years Scott has been a steadfast presence in my life. This I know. Scott's words and actions are consistent. And the integrity of his actions speak for themselves.

Meanwhile, Mr. Crosier fired a good, decent human being for absolutely no good reason, as no good reason has yet been offered...I do not know Mr. Crosier personally. I don't have to know Mr. Crosier to observe his actions and the results of them.

From his position of power as town supervisor, Mr. Crosier's actions affect all of the people he is supposed to serve, and his actions also speak louder than his words. I can see no goodness, no professionalism, no courtesy, and certainly no kindness in Mr. Crosier's in firing of Scott Green. What I see is discrimination, raw biased discrimination.

Actions speak louder than words.
