Perales wielded bat, fired shot in air

Timothy Perales

GUILDERLAND — The Guilderland Police arrested Timothy Perales, 28, of 130 Birchwood Dr. on Sept. 17 on several charges including menacing and criminal possession of a weapon.

Police were called to his home at 10:21 a.m. for a report of a disturbance; it was reported that two males were fighting in the driveway and that a loud pop was heard, according to a release from the police.

Police learned that there had been a physical altercation between two males who “have a history with one another,” the release says.

Perales retrieved a marine flare gun from his vehicle and threatened the other man with it; he discharged the weapon into the air, the release says.

A fight ensued, and then Perales went to his vehicle again, this time retrieving a baseball bat and making threatening gestures with it, the release says.

When police arrived, Perales was sitting in his vehicle, and he was taken into custody without incident, according to the release.

Perales is charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree menacing, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was arraigned by Judge Denise Randall and remanded to Albany County’s jail.
