Boarded up and vacant since a fire in 2010, the Governors Motor Inn is now owned by the Albany County Land Bank, which hopes to sell it for productive use.

GUILDERLAND — The Albany County Land Bank this week acquired the Governors Motor Inn, an abandoned property on Guilderland’s main thoroughfare, Route 20.

The land bank has taken possession of the inn, which was gutted by fire in 2010, as well as a house on the property.

The acquisition will likely lead to a sale to bring the property back to productive use, Adam Zaranko, the land bank’s executive director, told The Enterprise two weeks ago.

The property, at 2505 Western Ave., is in a local-business zone, which includes such uses as medical offices or bed-and-breakfast inns.
