Fatal accident

GUILDERLAND — A 77-year-old man had a “medical problem” while he was driving by Crossgates Mall, causing him to hit the car in front of him before he was pronounced dead, according to Guilderland Police.

Last Thursday, Marvin Glazier, of Slingerlands, was driving on Crossgates Mall Road near the Northway exit when he had the problem at about 4:25 p.m., according to a release from the police.  Glazier, who was driving a 2004 Toyota, rear-ended a 2000 Nissan driven by Hyunshik Chun, 56, of East Greenbush, causing minor damage to both vehicles, the release says.

The Western Turnpike Rescue Squad and Guilderland’s Emergency Medical Services took Glazier to St. Peter’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the report says.  Chun had no injuries, according to the report, but a passenger in his car had a minor injury although the person was not taken to the hospital.
