Rozell pleads guilty to attempted burglary
BETHLEHEM — A man who, police say, broke windows in two houses in one day pleaded guilty on Friday, Aug. 4, to second-degree attempted burglary, a felony.
Michael Rozell, 37, of Albany, made the plea before Judge William A. Carter in Albany County Court. He faces six years in state prison when sentenced on Sept. 12.
On Oct. 21, 2016, at about 10:52 a.m., Rozell tried to break into a home on Paxwood Road in the town of Bethlehem by throwing a brick through a window, according to a release from the Albany County District Attorney’s Office; Rozell ran away when the home’s security alarm sounded.
In a separate incident on the same day, Rozell broke a window at another home, climbed in, and stole valuables, the release said; a witness observed the break-in and called the police. When police arrived, they saw Rozell outside of the home; he was apprehended by police and the stolen items were recovered.
Assistant District Attorney Linda Griggs of the Financial Crimes Unit prosecuted this case.
