Jackson missing since June 13

GUILDERLAND — The Guilderland Police have been investigating the disappearance of Steven Jackson for over two weeks.

Jackson was reported missing by a family member on June 15, by a family member who hadn’t heard from him since the early morning hours of June 13, according to a release from the Guilderland Police.

Jackson, 39, lives at 101 Stoneridge Court, in Guilderland. He is described as a black male, approximately 5 feet, 6 inches tall, weighing around 185 pounds with a muscular build. He has short black hair and a thin goatee.

Captain Curtis Cox of the Guilderland Police said there is no clear definition for a “missing person,” and that it varies by case.

“It does not appear that Jackson just picked up and went somewhere — there is nothing to suggest that he went on vacation, or moved,” said Cox. Jackson’s red Jeep, with Florida license plates, was found near his home.

Jackson has family in Long Island, but he has not been in contact with them, police say.

“We do get our share of missing person cases, but often times they are solved fairly quickly,” Cox said. He said the Guilderland Police have been working diligently on this particular case since the day Jackson was reported missing. Cox declined to comment on whether the police suspect foul play.
