The right person transcends any party affiliation

To the Editor:

Although I have been a long-term, active member of the Guilderland Democratic Committee, I recently resigned in order to campaign for Brian Forte, who is running for town supervisor. I also know of many other Democrats who plan to support Brian, because we think that selecting the right person transcends any party affiliation.

Everyone who knows Brian comments on what a terrific personality he had, and, while that is certainly true, he also possesses many other wonderful qualities. He happens to be one of the most intelligent people I have ever known, and he is a man of great integrity.

Furthermore, Brian has the right experience for the job of supervisor, having served as a town councilman, police officer, and volunteer fireman. This has afforded him an extensive working knowledge of the community, and any decision he would make as town supervisor would be in the best interest of all residents. Many of his specific goals were mentioned in the June 4 edition of this newspaper.

In closing, I wonder if anyone else has noticed that Brian’s last name is so appropriate: The word “forte” means strength, and Brian Forte is a strong candidate who would bring strong leadership to the position of town supervisor.
